Sara Bova is an Adjunct Professor at the Università degli Studi di Roma “Tor Vergata”. She holds a Ph.D. in History of Architecture and Urbanism from the Università Iuav di Venezia (2017). She previously studied at the Università degli Studi “Mediterranea” di Reggio Calabria, where she graduated in 2009, and at the Università di Roma Tre, where she gained a High Specialization Course Diploma in 2012. She has recently been selected as Associate Research Scholar at the Italian Academy of the Columbia University in New York for the Spring Term 2022 (Weinberg Fellowships in Architectural History and Preservation). She received research and travel grants from the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca in Rome, the Centro Internazionale di Studi di Architettura (CISA) Andrea Palladio, and the Renaissance Society of America (RSA). She collaborated as Research assistant with the Superintendence for Architectural Heritage of the Vatican Museums and the Polo Museale del Lazio (Museum Center of Lazio) of the Italian Ministry of Culture. Her research interests range from Renaissance artistic and architectural patronage to 15th-century sculpted and painted architecture, as well as to early-modern cross-cultural influences and architectural practices, notably in papal Rome and in the Republic of Venice. Her studies also deal with architectural education from the 19th to 20th century.
